Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is recognized as an important trend of information technology and will deeply affect everyday’s life of people. Theoretical and engineering aspects of CPS, such as its foundations, methods and tools, implementation techniques, attract a lot of research interests recently. The capabilities of CPS are realized by deeply embedded computation, communication and control, and their extensive interactions. As CPS is widely adopted in various critical areas (for example, distributed energy systems, transportation systems, and healthcare monitoring), its safety and security become key issues for its development and utilization.

The safety and security problems faced by CPS have essential differences compared with traditional computing systems. The purpose of SSCPS workshop is providing a forum to bring together researchers and practitioners working towards improving the safety and security of CPS and their related areas. The workshop focuses on innovative methodologies, techniques, tools, management and applications in this challenging area, and provides a chance of exchanging ideas on them.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety and security models of CPS
  • Design for safety and security of CPS
  • Metrics and measurement for safety and security of CPS
  • Verification and validation of CPS
  • Testing and simulation of CPS
  • Monitoring and evolution for safety and security of CPS
  • Management issues in safety and security of CPS
  • Methods and tools of CPS
  • Applications and empirical studies of CPS

Conference Companion

Accepted workshop papers will appear in the QRS 2019 conference companion which will be published by IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (CPS). Papers presented at the conference will also be submitted for inclusion into the IEEE Xplore and to all of the A&I (abstracting and indexing) partners (such as the Ei Compendex).

Authors may also choose to publish their papers in an Ei-indexed journal–International Journal of Performability Engineering (IJPE; http://www.ijpe-online.com).

Journal Special Issue (TBA)

Best Paper Award

At least one award will be presented. Authors will receive a certificate signed by the President of the IEEE Reliability Society and the Organizers of SSCPS 2019.
