Automated testing focuses on automatically testing software in accordance with test engineers’ scheduled plans using test tools or other means. It can cost effectively complete a lot of testing work that would otherwise be very time consuming and expensive if done by hand. There are many factors that need to be considered while performing automated testing such as testing process, testing structure, automatic compilation, and so on. Further, software testing should also be integrated with recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI). This has lead to an emerging research discipline that combines software testing automation and intelligent software testing. This discipline has two aspects: use of AI algorithms in software testing and testing of AI software. This workshop serves as a platform for researchers and practitioners to discuss and exchange ideas of the latest development of theories and techniques in automated and intelligent software testing. It also gives attendees an opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned in applying these theories and techniques to real-life projects in practice.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Theories, techniques, and tool support of automated testing
- Application of artificial intelligent algorithms to software testing
- Design and automatic generation of test cases and testing scripts
- AI-based software verification and validation
- AI-based software testing models, prediction, simulation, and evaluation
- Testing of artificial intelligence software
Conference Companion
Accepted workshop papers will appear in the QRS 2019 conference companion
which will be published by IEEE Computer Society
Conference Publishing Services (CPS). Papers presented at the conference
will also be submitted for inclusion into the IEEE Xplore and to all of the A&I
(abstracting and indexing) partners (such as the Ei Compendex).
Authors may also choose to publish their papers in an Ei-indexed journal–International Journal of Performability Engineering (IJPE; http://www.ijpe-online.com).
Journal Special Issue (TBA)
Best Paper Award
At least one
award will be presented. Authors will receive a certificate signed by the President
of the IEEE Reliability Society and the Organizers of AIST 2019.

Submission
Authors are invited to
submit original, unpublished research papers as well as industrial practice papers.
Simultaneous submissions to other publications and conferences are not permitted. Detailed
instructions for electronic paper submission, panel proposals and review process can be found at
https://qrs19.techconf.org
/submission.
The length of a camera ready paper will be limited to eight pages, including the title of the paper, the name and affiliation of each author, a 150-word abstract, and up to 6 keywords.
Authors must follow the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines to prepare papers. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper is required to pay full registration fee and present the paper at the workshop. Arrangements are being made to publish selected accepted papers in reputable journals. The submissions must be in PDF and uploaded to the conference submission site.
