The 2013 International Conference on Information Science and Cloud Computing (ISCC 2013) will be held from December 7-8, 2013 in Guangzhou, China. Official Language

The official language of this conference is English. Abstracts, papers and presentations should be fairly presented English.


Format and Template

All submissions must not be less than 6 pages, and can't exceed 7 pages in length. Otherwise, you have to pay for the additional pages. Authors can refer to the following guidelines to prepare their papers ——ISCC 2013 Template


Review Policy

On submission, all papers undergo initial screening for suitability for the ISCC 2013 by the editors. Suitable papers will be sent to at least two independent referees chosen by the Editor-in-Chief, and the reports from the referees are then considered by the Editor-in-Chief, who will make the final decision.



Special Statement:


Since its establishment, the 2013 International Conference on Information Science and Cloud Computing (ISCC 2013) has been dedicated to developing a high-level, high-standard, and high-quality platform for the scientists, engineers, educators and technicians in the fields of information science and cloud computing to further academic exchange. Considering that there is a wide-range of unqualified international academic conferences held in China, and some conferences have met difficulties in publication and retrieval because of the poor quality of the articles and the problems in procedural norms, the organizing committee of this conference is committed to ensuring the quality and norms of the conference and articles involved and to protecting the interests of participants and contributors. Thus, the organizing committee makes a special statement concerning contributions:

  1. All articles contributed to ISCC 2013 must be new articles which have not been published in any journals or publications, and the copyrights of the articles should not have been demised to any institution, organization or individual.


  2. Several kinds of articles will be refused by ISCC 2013: 1) Pseudo-articles which are incompetent in reasoning and devoid of any statistics, experiments or designs; 2) Plagiarized articles; 3) Articles translated by translation software; 4) Articles irrelevant to the theme and scope of this conference.


  3. ISCC 2013 takes a tough stance on plagiarism. All articles registered will be tested for plagiarism. Any article that fails to pass the plagiarism detection will be sent back to its writer and the writer will be charged for an inspection fee of RMB 500 yuan.


  4. ISCC 2013 earnestly requests article-contributors to scrupulously abide by academic ethics. ISCC 2013 also objects to repeated submission of one article and withdrawal of articles without reason. Any academic misbehavior concerning articles contributed will be reported to the contributor’s home institutions.


  5. To strengthen the supervision and examination of articles and to ensure quality, the administration team of ISCC 2013 will examine each article for five to ten workdays. Please be patient.






Conference Proceedings


The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (CPS). Papers presented at the conference will also be submitted for inclusion into the IEEE Xplore and to all of the A&I (abstracting and indexing) partners (such as the EI Compendex).

Introduction to Guangzhou


Guangzhou is located in southern China in the middle of Guangdong Province, north of the Pearl River Delta. The city also lies close to the South China Sea, Hong Kong, and Macau. Because of its convenient geographical position, Guangzhou has been called "China's Southern Gateway". As the capital of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou is the center of its politics, economy, science, education. It is also southern China's key transportation hub and trading port.


Covering an area of 7,434.4 square kilometers, Guangzhou is home to more than 12 million people. It has direct jurisdiction over ten districts and two county-level cities. The ten districts include Yuexiu, Liwan, Haizhu, Tianhe, Baiyun, Huangpu, Huadu, Panyu, Nansha, Luogang, while the two county-level cities are Zengcheng and Conghua.


The annual average temperature in Guangzhou is 22.8 degrees centigrade, and average relative humidity is about 68%, while annual rainfall across the city's urban area is over 1,600 mm. Guangzhou lies right next to the Baiyun Mountain, which is called the "lung of the city". The Pearl River, China's third largest waterway, also runs through Guangzhou. The city's humid subtropical climate is greatly influenced by Asian monsoons. With year-round flowers and evergreen plants, Guangzhou has been affectionately called the "Flower City" since ancient times.


Lifeful Guangzhou is one of the first group of 24 historical cities announced by the State Council and China Top Tourist Cities. With over a 2,200-year history, Guangzhou is rich in antiquity, unique customs and deep cultural deposits.


Guangzhou is historically both the start of the Maritime Silk Road and the center of Lingnan Culture. It is also the cradle of Chinese modern revolution, and the foreland of China's reform and opening to the outside world. Guangzhou has been a renowned commercial center since ancient times and is now the economic hub of southern China. Chinese Import and Export Commodities Fair is widely regarded as being "The No.1 Exhibition in China" and remains a magnet for foreign investors.


An ancient but dynamic city, Guangzhou impresses visitors with both its vivid modern ambience and unique traditional Lingnan indigenous culture. Reflecting the unique charm of a multi-cultural metropolis, the city's cultural influences can be seen in all aspects of its social life. Specific examples include diet, lifestyle, architecture, commerce, language, music, art, customs and entertainment.



Baiyun mountain


Located in northeast of downtown Guangzhou, the Baiyun Mountain covers a total area of 20.98 square kilometers and is a national grade-AAAAA scenic area and the only national scenic area in Guangzhou. As a well-known mountain in south Guangdong province, the mountain has been given a title of “most beautiful mountain in Guangzhou” since ancient times. Its highest peak, Moxing Ridge, stands 382m above sea level.


Since the reform and opening up policy was carried out, some new fascinating scenic spots, e.g. Mingchun Valley, Guangzhou Forest of Steles, Nengren Temple, Yuntai Garden, Sculpture Park, and Peach Blossom Ravine, etc., have been put up. They shape up a colorful gallery of landscapes along with previous Moxing Ridge, Cloud of Dust, and No. 1 Peak in Guangzhou, etc. All of them are optimal destinations of tourists who go to Guangzhou.


Chen Clan Temple Church


Ancestral Temple is the Chinese Qing Dynasty ancestral architecture. Formerly known as Chen Clan Academy. In Guangdong Province,Guangzhou, Zhongshan Qi Road. The Temple is large-scale, ornate, the Guangdong region rich save more complete representation of the Qing Dynasty folk architecture. 1988 PRC State Council promulgated a national key cultural relics protection units. Chen Clan built before Guangxu fourteen years (1888), was built in two years Guangxu (1894), covers an area of 15,000 square meters. The main building is five three, nine six homes, building area of 6400 square meters. Holy Heart Cathedral


Holy Heart Cathedral (Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral) is a Gothic-style church sits on the Yide Rd., Guangzhou, the most ambitious and distinctive Catholic Diocese of the city. The church was built by a French designer along with Chinese craftsmen from 1862 to 1888, a 25 years of construction, and has a 125 years of history after completion. The similarity of architecture style make it earn a reputation as "Far East Notre Dame."


Origin of the name


The name of Sacred Heart Cathedral came from the official date of its groundbreaking ceremony on June 18, 1863, which was also the Feast of the Sacred Heart of the year.


Building size


The area of the buildings are around 2754 square meters, with 35 meters wide from east to west, and 78.69 meters long form north to south. The highest point of the buildings is as high as 58.5 meters.


As the largest parish church in Guangzhou, and one of the most magnificent existing architecture around the country, it is also the largest among the four full-Gothic style stone-structured building in the world. Architectural Style

The highly appropriate, ideal composition of the buildings make the Catholic Church appears in a pure medieval Europe fashion with an oriental atmosphere.

Note:


  1. At least one author of each accepted paper must register using the author registration rate to ensure that the paper is included in the conference proceedings. The author registration must be received before and by the specified author registration deadline, i.e., November 10, 2013. 

  2. Payment of the registration fee covers the cost of proceedings publishing, flight shipping, custom taxes, conference venue and session rooms renting, coffee/tea breaks, conference banquet, and all lunches and dinners during the conference. Notice that the registration fee does not cover travelling fee and hotel fee.

  3. Please write your name and paper ID (if you have a paper) on the bank transfer receipt (from the bank), and e-mail the scanned copy of your receipt to isccom@163.com.

  4. Payments sent by bank transfer must be free of charges for ISCC 2013 and only the bank transfer is accepted for author registration. 

  5. Member and student registration should send the scanned copy of the valid membership card and student ID card, respectively, to isccom@163.com. Basically, the member or student must be the first author of the paper. There is no double discount for student member and post-doctor (Post-doctor is not considered as a student).

  6. If the same author has more than one paper accepted by the conference, each paper is required for registration separately.

  7. An official receipt for the payment will be passed to the registrant at the conference site.

Question: What is the format that my manuscript should follow?
Answer: Please click on "Program→Submission" at the top of the navigation bar to download the template.

Question: Does the conference accept papers in Chinese?
Answer: No. All papers should be in English.

Question: What is the maximum length of the manuscript for this conference?
Answer: Normally,All submissions must not be less than 6 pages, and can't exceed 7 pages in length. If the paper exceeds 7 pages, an extra fee will be required. Except the best papers, most papers are strictly required to be no more than 10 pages.

Question: How many papers can be submitted by each account?
Answer: Each account could handle 3 papers at most.

Question: What is the discount policy?
Answer: The registration fee is the same no matter whether you attend the conference or not. The students enjoy a 10% discount. For more discount information, please refer to the Registration Instructions.

Question: Could someone without papers attend the conference?
Answer: Yes, you are welcome to attend the conference. For the sake of convenience, you should pay the registration fee in advance.

Biography

Hong Shen is Professor (Chair) of Computer Science in the University of Adelaide, Australia, and currently also a "Thousand Talents" professor in Sun Yat-Sen University, China. He received the B.Eng.degree from Beijing University of Science and Technology, M.Eng.degree from University of Science and Technology of China, Ph.Lic.and Ph.D. degrees from Abo Akademi University, Finland, all in Computer Science. He was Professor and Chair of the Computer Networks Laboratory in Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(JAIST) during 2001-2006, and Professor (Chair) of Compute Science at Griffith University, Australia, where he taught 9 years since 1992.With main research interests in parallel and distributed computing,algorithms, data mining, privacy preserving computing, high performance networks and multimedia systems, he has published more than 300 papers including over 100 papers in international journals such as a variety of IEEE and ACM transactions. Prof. Shen received many honours/awards including China National Endowed Expert of "Thousand Talents", Chinese Academy of Sciences "Hundred Talents", National Education Commission Science and Technology Progress Award,and Chinese Academy of Sciences Natural Sciences Award. He served on the editorial board of numerous journals (incl.IEEE TC and IEEE TPDS) and chaired several conferences.

Biography

Tatsuhiro Tsuchiya received his M.E. and Ph.D degrees in engineering from Osaka University in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology at Osaka University. His research interests are in the areas of dependable computing and verification and testing. He is a member of the program committees of 34th International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS 2014), 33rd International Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2014), and 7th International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation (ICST 2014)..

Big Data in the Big Picture – Challenges and Projections for the Future


Biography

Dr. Christian K. Hansen is Professor and Associate Dean of Computing and Engineering Sciences at Eastern Washington University (EWU) and 2014 President of the IEEE Reliability Society. He is been with EWU since 1993 and served a variety of academic and administrative leadership positions. Prior to his current leadership position, he served as department chair for eight years. He has been active in the reliability profession for over 25 years and published broadly on a variety of engineering applications, mostly related to reliability modeling and failure data analysis for complex electronic systems. Over the past two decades he has been active with the IEEE Reliability Society and has served in leadership positions that include vice-president of publications, treasurer and president elect. Dr. Hansen is a graduate of the Technical University of Denmark with degrees in Electrical Engineering (MS, 1988) and Statistics (PhD, 1991).
